Winter Ambience | Relaxing Instrumental Music (Original Composition)

Winter Solstice is a time of stillness. It is the shortest day, and the word "solstice" literally means "sun standing still" in Latin. I wrote a short piece to celebrate this stillness as an opportunity to reflect on the years behind and the ones ahead. Aside from a main feel and melody, this was entirely through-composed and improvised - my interpretation of a characteristic of the day's coming and going, from sunrise to sunset.

I named this track "Riddles of Existence" - a nod to the fact that many of the ancient structures across the planet are aligned precisely to the solstices and equinoxes. A striking demonstration of the rich knowledge of civilizations before ours that was far more connected the natural world and cosmos.
