There are a total of five wizards in Lord of the Rings, each possessing their own unique abilities.
Gandalf the Grey is the most well-known of the wizards and serves as a mentor and guide to many of the main characters. He is wise and powerful, and uses his magic to protect and defend Middle-earth.
Saruman the White is initially one of the good wizards, but he becomes corrupted by his desire for power and turns against the other wizards and the forces of good.
Radagast the Brown is a wizard who is closely connected to nature and the animals of Middle-earth. He is less powerful than the other wizards and generally keeps to himself, but he still plays a crucial role in the story.
Alatar and Pallando are the Blue Wizards, who are sent to help fight against the rising darkness in the far eastern lands of Middle-earth. Not much is known about these wizards, as they do not play a large role in the main story.
