Description
This is a cover of the song "What I Do" by Sons of the East - their acoustic version. I didn't copy it exactly I put my own spin on it by trying to combine a bass note picking and percussive backbeat hit technique Justin Guitar demonstrates in a grade 3, module 17 lesson. You basically palm mute the top strings of every percussive backbeat hit while still allowing your fingers to play the top strings to keep the melody moving, combined with alternate plucking the bass note. It's a good exercise in keeping rhythm since you have to keep rhythm of like four things at once. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right because I don't take in-person lessons and thus don't really get feedback but it seems about right.
I took the vocals and harmonica from the recording for the backing track.
