Connick's wonderful & wildly contrasting journeys down two Yuletide 'roads,' the latter less traveled, the former well-worn indeed, r both drawn from his 2nd Xmas album, 2003's "Harry for the Holidays." Of course, even B4 I finished the sentence, I could hear the bemused response: "Say what? 'Nature Boy' a 'road less traveled'? One of the most recorded songs in the history of Western civilization?! By both vocalists AND instrumentalists??! In almost every conceivable genre??!!) All very true, I'd respond; EXCEPT, that is, when conceived of as a Christmas song; in THAT context (i.e. as part of a Christmas-themed album or anthology), u will hardly EVER find this otherwise ubiquitous piece of music.
