Kun Opera: The Shimmering Song
Design Statement:
Taking the long volume of the Northern Song Dynasty Landscape "Thousand Miles River & Mountain Pictures" as the designing element, the costume of the play carries on the stylized creation through the embroidery of the pattern of the classic picture. The play reappears the love story of the princess and her lover and explores the human nature, while their costumes show the beauty of the nature through delicate design of embroidery. Furthermore, the shape of chairs also contains the elements of the gorgeous map, It looks like a rolling river and mountains which echo the counterparts on the performers’clothes.
