Original comments: "Here's a show from a really good sextet that Victor Bailey put together shortly before the release of his 2nd album, Low Blow. Of course, he was "the guy who'd replaced Jaco" in Weather Report back in the early 80's. Victor was a terrific bassist (as were all the players in that WR bass "chair"), and he'd kept busy with Steps Ahead, Bill Evans (Petite Blond), Metro, Joe Zawinul, and studio work in those post WR days. Near to the time of this gig, he also featured pretty heavily on a few albums that Lenny White released near to the time of this show. The players joining Victor here are all leaders or "first call" sidemen in their own right, so the playing throughout is great, and as a bass led gig, Victor is well in the spot light."
