Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (Singapore City; September 11, 1991), better known by his stage name Kygo, is a Norwegian DJ, composer and record producer.
During his career, he was gaining popularity thanks to his remix of Ed Sheeran's track "I See Fire", which has received over 50 million plays on SoundCloud and 65 million views on YouTube. He came in at number 26 in the 2016 DJ Mag poll, climbing seven positions from the previous year, where he was ranked number 33. Known worldwide thanks to his two hits "Stole The Show" and "Firestone," both played more than 400 million times each on Spotify. Kygo has amassed over 100 million views on his music on Soundcloud and YouTube. After a breakthrough in 2014, he was approached by Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin to create a remix of the song "Midnight".
On December 1, 2014, he released his first single "Firestone", featuring vocals by Conrad Sewell, with which he achieved international recognition placing at the top of the European charts. On March 15, 2015, he released his second single, titled "Stole The Show".
On August 21, 2016, he performed alongside Julia Michaels "Carry Me" at the closing ceremony of the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games. On July 26, 2017, he released his documentary Stole The Show through Apple Music.
On December 1, 2014 he released his first single "Firestone," featuring vocals by Conrad, which gained international recognition in 2014 and debuted on several global charts. After receiving over 80 million views on YouTube and Soundcloud, Kygo was approached by Avicii and Coldplay's Chris Martin to create official remixes of songs by these two artists. He also opened for Avicii at Findings Festival in Oslo, Norway in 2014. On September 19, 2014, it was confirmed that Kygo was to replace Avicii on the main stage at Tomorrowworld, due to the Dj's health problems.
Kygo was also called to do various events in North America, and some of the shows he had already sold out. He also got a feature interview in the official Billboard magazine, where he talked about his remixes for Diplo and Coldplay, and talked about his upcoming North American tour.
In July 2014, Kygo partnered with the Electric Family brand to produce a bracelet collaborating to have 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer awareness. In the same month, he scored a huge record label split with Sony International and Ultra Records. In February 2015, his new song "Stole the Show" was featured in the official trailer for Ultra Music Festival and was #24 in the UK6 and topped the charts in Norway and Sweden.
