"The Star Wars Cantina" Comedy Parody Song by Mark Jonathan Davis hit the radio airwaves on January 8, 1997 to coincide with the theatrical release of the new "Star Wars Special Edition" movies. MJD's sci-fi spoof of Barry Manilow's 1978 disco hit "Copacabana" became a huge hit around the galaxy, airing on hundreds of radio stations from coast to coast, including Star98.7/Los Angeles, Z100/New York City, and on the syndicated airwaves of The Premiere Radio Networks, Radio Disney, and The Dr. Demento Show.

"The Star Wars Cantina" Comedy Parody Song was written, produced, and performed by Mark Jonathan Davis. (No, this song was NOT recorded by Weird Al Yankovic.) Mark Jonathan Davis sang the vocal, the music was played by Bryce Johnson, and the background vocals were sung by Loretta Mendoza. The track was engineered by MJD with help from James Arnold Taylor, Rob "Iceman" Izenberg, and Larry "Larry" Morgan. The music video titles were directed by Gary Reisman.

The song was remastered in 2017 for this new official music video, and the track was re-released on the album "THE PARODY SONGS THAT DESTROYED EARTH" by Mark Jonathan Davis in 2020.
