Description
"The Song is You" was composed by Jerome Kern, with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, for their show Music in the Air in 1932. I have also posted Frank Sinatra's first recording from 1942. This is a much later and much rarer version. According to the liner notes for the 1978 Capitol/EMI album, The Rare Sinatra, this is an alternative take for the Come Dance with Me album and was recorded on December 9, 1958. As with the issued version included on the album, it was arranged and conducted by Billy May. This version is, in my opinion, in no way inferior to the chosen version.
