Description
The debut single by the Los Angeles-based quartet known as The Friends of Distinction was a lyricized remake of Hugh Masekela's #1 instrumental hit, "Grazing in the Grass." Founding member Harry Elston added lyrics to the song, and the result was a catchy track with some unique vocal wordplay that became as distinctive as their group name--I love this remake as much as the original. This version of Grazing in the Grass also became a hit, going to #3 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1969.
