The Clique – She Ain’t No Good …1965
Over the years there has been quite a few bands named “The Clique”. Not to be confused with The Clique from Beaumont Texas, this band named The Clique was a British Beat-group from Kenton, Middlesex. The band appears to have released only two singles in the mid 1960s. The song featured in this video is from their first single. “She Ain’t No Good/ Time, Time, Time”, which was released in 1965 on the Pye record label. The band members at the time of this recording were Brian Morris (guitar), John Kitchin (rhythm guitar), Peter Westgarth (vocals), Trevor Roberts (drums), and Adrian Stambach (bass). The song, “She Ain’t No Good”, was written by songwriter Robert Rowbottom and “Time Time Time” was written by Rowbottom and producer Larry Page. The Clique were the first to cover these songs in February of 1965, later that year, British band, The Knack also covered both songs.
