Description
This is the second song off of the first Byrds album, Mr. Tambourine Man, released in 1965. I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better is probably the best original song out of the five on the first Byrds album, with some great writing from Gene Clark, and a memorable riff very similar to the Searchers’ song Needles and Pins. This song is also notable for David Crosby’s percussive rhythm guitar style on his Gretsch Tennessean (I’m playing on a 1967 Gretsch 6120), which would later be built upon for songs like Eight Miles High. Roger McGuinn also has a great yet somewhat simple guitar solo on his Rickenbacker.
Similar to the song, I panned my Gretsch to the left, and my Rickenbacker to the right.
Please keep giving me requests for new songs you’d like me to cover! It will probably take me around a month or so to learn the different parts and finish recording them from when I see the request (but if I especially like the song I’ll do it sooner), so let me know what songs you’d like to see.
Also just as a heads up for the future of the channel, I’ll probably stick to The Hollies, The Beatles, and The Byrds for right now, but at some point I’d like to merge covers of other bands such as The Zombies, The Lovin’ Spoonful, and Jefferson Airplane.
The current request list is as follows:
The Byrds - So You Want To Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star
The Hollies - Crusader
The Beatles - She Said She Said
The Hollies - Look Through Any Window
The Hollies - I Can't Let Go
Feel free to ask any questions you have about chords or notes (Also check out Gary Jacob’s videos if you want to learn how to play Roger’s 12 String parts better), and thanks for watching!
