This is the single 45 version of Taco's (nee Taco Ockerse) 1983 international hit, the Irving Berlin-penned "Puttin' On The Ritz". The singer did release one more charted single, "Singin' In The Rain" that same year, but it only made the UK Singles chart, getting as high as #98.

"Puttin' On The Ritz" was a #1 hit in New Zealand and Sweden. In the US, it went #1 on the Cash Box Top 100, #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, #12 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, and #37 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. In Canada, it peaked at #2 on the RPM Top Singles chart and hit #1 on the RPM Adult Contemporary chart. The song was a Top 20 hit in Netherlands; peaking at #12 on the Dutch Top 40 chart and #18 on the Single Top 100 chart.

"Puttin' On The Ritz" made the Top 10 in Norway (#2), South Africa (#3), Austria (#3), Australia (#5), and Switzerland (#6). The song also peaked at #13 in Belgium, #20 in Germany, #24 in Ireland, and #74 in France.
