Sue was awarded by CCI and Music Network to do a month-long residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris in 2023. There, she developed a collection of songs inspired by short stories of the Gothic genre. The songs look at themes of cats, hauntings, witches, isolation, renewal and empowerment and uncover the role of gender, nature, music and the setting of atmosphere in the gothic short story.
The music is composed by Sue Rynhart and includes folk songs, and the accompaniments are arranged by Huw Warren. The music is performed by Sue Rynhart (voice), Huw Warren (piano) and Dan Bodwell (double bass).

With an extensive background in early music, classical, choral singing and improvisation, innovative Dublin vocalist and composer Sue Rynhart sings in a very unique and crystal clear voice laced with folk and jazz influences. Her compositions are an edgy blend of modern jazz and contemporary sounds pushing the boundaries of genre with her own singular vision. Nominated for 'Best Jazz Album' in the Irish Times Ticket Awards Sue Rynhart's music has reached international critical acclaim from publications and radio including; All About Jazz, Folk Radio UK, BBC, RTV Radio Slovenia & London Jazz News.
Awarded the BBC Jazz award for Innovation, Welsh pianist and composer Huw Warren has achieved an international reputation for innovative and eclectic music making Huw has recorded two albums for ECM as Quercus with June Tabor and Iain Ballamy and albums for CAM Jazz. Warren has performed and collaborated with a wide array of musicians including Mark Feldman, Mark Lockheart, Maria Pia di Vito, Neil Yates, Joanna Macgreggor, Kenny Wheeler, Theo Bleckmann and Jim Black.
Daniel Bodwell studied classical double bass with Anthony Bianco at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He studied jazz double bass with Detlev Beier at the Hochschule fuer Kuenste, Bremen, Germany. He has played with Louis Stewart, John Wadham, Phil Ware, Michael, Hugh, and Richie Buckley, as well as many other excellent Irish jazz musicians. He performs regularly with Frankie Gavin and De Danann, the RTE Concert Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Quiet Music Ensemble, Declan O’Rourke, Jerry Fish, Duke Special, the New Irish Jazz Orchestra, the Nigel Mooney Quartet, Mary Coughlan, the Francesco Turrisi Trio, the Sue Rynhart/Daniel Bodwell Duo, and the New York-based Micah Gaugh Trio.
