I wrote the original song idea/lyrics in 1982. Hair bands were starting to rule, but I still had a love for some of the mellower rock music of that time (think REO Speedwagon or Tom Petty), so I wrote these lyrics with that type of arrangement in mind. I was 21, and loving my freedom when I originally wrote this tune.
