Description
"Scarborough Settler's Lament" is from the last album Stan Rogers recorded before his death, "For The Family". The tune is from a 19th century traditional Scottish ballad, written by A. Glendenning, 1840. The lyrics are by Stan Rogers & the arrangement is by Garnet Rogers. Stan sings the songs from his childhood...traditional songs and also songs written by family members. This song holds the sadness of the people who left their home generations ago, but it also holds my sadness at his early death in my own city. The tragic accident took away a wonderful musician and person early in life, and I treasure his music each time I hear it. He played along with his brother, Garnet and friend and musician, Jim Morison on this lovely album. Enjoy!
