Patti Page had a big #1 in the US with the original version of this song in 1952 but the best remembered by me anyway is this parody by Spike Jones, whereas the original is about a nervous groom at the alter watching his bride coming down the aisle and her family crying through happiness, enter Spike who turned the whole thing on it's head with the bride tripping as she came down the aisle the congregation laughing at the family eventually getting rid of her. Spike reached #20 in the US charts.
Although the original was from the grooms viewpoint the most popular versions were by female singers.
