I did the changes to Franklin's Tower a lot growing up. learning you know, it's so simple on it's own, but part of the cool one - two punch packed by Blues For Allah with Help On The Way, arguably The Grateful Dead's most heavily Jazz/Rock Fusion influenced album. It sure is impressive some of the events contained in the studio version.
I can't say I'm surprised the clone bands work so hard to recreate the suite note for note, and I guess all the work really paid off for some... but that's painting by numbers IMHO.
Recently I've finally been able to get through all the the verses somehow.
Of course, it's just another throwaway in the YouTube universe of throwaways, I played it through at tempo ignoring some flubs to get a usable backing track, then I added an improvised lead guitar while I lip synced along with the playback.
no gonna add a hashtag for the Dead Covers Project 2022 since it didn't exist in 1972 ...
