My simple tribute to a wonderful father, who like mother and my grandparents never expected us, their children, to repay them in any way or manner whatsoever, more so, moneywise in return for their love and sacrifices for us. He was a very unique character, truly confined and altogether private - a loner in the true sense- like my grandfather who was one too. Except for my late sister, my two brothers and I have inherited that trait- having one mutual friend would be enough for us. He had only one close friend, as I recall- Dr. Arturo Lopez, a classmate of his- other than that, kept to himself, doing long hikes in the afternoon after his siesta.. I do still contain vivid memories of him taking me and my brothers on his hikes to the suburbs and remember his kissing me once when I was five and sick crying which made me even feel surprised. I guess it was part of a cultural or old school thing. He didn't have a solo pic as an adult, two when he was just a toddler and the other was when he received his first Holy Communion. There was one taken with the family and one with mother's younger brother Emilio, thus there's nothing that I can post herein except for the places he had been as far as memory goes. I still miss him a lot, after all these years reminiscing he could've lived longer should he reached the time to come to America. Tatay, wherever you are, please know that I always think of you and hope, someday, when that day comes when we'll see each other again. I wouldn't have the strength and courage to express these at your funeral service, so let this be my eulogy for you.
