Description
It was 1964 and I was visiting Edinburgh during the festival. Passing The Canongate Tolbooth, I stopped to read a poster advertising a gig which was being held there that very afternoon and decided to return for it.
The performers were two young beatnicks (this was pre-hippy days) called Robin Williamson and Clive Palmer; a duo which would soon become a trio when they were joined by a young man named Mike Heron and became The Incredible String Band.
The rest is history.
