Rik Jam also known as Ronaldo Ricketts, was born and raised in a community called Fletcher Land. Ronaldo spent half of his childhood in Fletcher Land until his mother passed away. He later moved to Stadium Gardens, where he now resides with his father.

Life has changed ever since he moved. Ronaldo faced some challenges, but music was the only thing that kept him together. His love for music started from the tender age of 8, when he would participate in singing activities at church. However, his passion for music blossomed when he entered his teenage years. At the age of 15, Ronaldo decided to join the school choir in St Andrew Technical High School. As he participated in various rehearsals and live performances, he quickly realized that music was his life goal. Ronaldo felt a passion within himself each time he sang. He did not just want to voice the words of a song but wanted his music to speak to his audience.

From early on in his music career, Ronaldo proposed himself to sing positive lyrics, as such music helped him focus and strike positive energy. Music is like a gateway to Ronaldo's happiness, without it he believes he wouldn’t function properly.

Ronaldo has always been interested in the music industry, willing to learn new instruments. Currently, Ronaldo has some knowledge in playing the piano, but he is taking it slow as he appreciates the music and his audience. Ronaldo feels guided by the words of Bob Marley, “when the root is strong, the fruit is sweet”.

Ronaldo met Phillip at a high school band competition and this ended up being an inspiring experience. Upon venturing out to pursue his musical goals, Philip advised Ronaldo to complete his education before doing music full time. Having completed his education, Ronaldo had a chance to record his first song “Love never Lost". Because of his single “Love never Lost”, Ronaldo started performing at various events. This knowledge and experience that he has gathered have opened up new doors and certainly have helped him compose his next few songs such as “Life” and “Realist Ting”.
