Qinghai-Tibet railway track replacement completed after 7 years

Description

After seven years of hard work, workers have finished replacing the track along all 1,956 kilometers of the railway on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The work began in 2010 with a total investment of close to 1.3 billion yuan (around 194 million US dollars). According to the railway company, the new seamless tracks have a higher density and strength, which means faster travel and better passenger comfort.
