Description
Well, I'm just stepping out of bounds, outside my house here in the Poconos.
And this—this Azalea—has been through a lot. It started out in South Jersey, in Cherry Hill. It was getting nibbled by... uh, crazy deer. We have a lot of deer in Cherry Hill. It's wild. They're unhealthy, just scrawny little suburban rats. Unlike Artemis up here—yeah, I call her Artemis. She’s a lovely deer. She doesn’t bug my stuff.
I keep deer repellent on everything.
Anyway, I had moved the Azalea and cared for it in a container. It was finally getting a break—doing so well. Then it got nibbled again. So I moved it, put more deer repellent on it, and down South it started doing much better.
And I thought, you know what, sweetheart? You need to be in your native environment—in the ground. The soil here might be a little drained, but there's water, and in the morning, sunlight streams in. I’m hoping it’s the perfect spot for you.
Next year, I’ll take a new video and see how you're doing.
I’m planting natives along the creek bed here—spice bushes. They’re so much better than those awful Forsythia that grow like weeds. They’re invasive. This is just... so much better. Even the deer like them—though yes, I still put deer repellent on.
I don’t have a bird in that house yet, but I’m hoping some bluebirds will show up. It’s a bluebird house.
This is just my little Walden in the woods—with the breeze. It’s so peaceful.
Alright, people. Love you. Bye.
