Mitsuyo "Mie" Nemoto and Keiko "Kei" Masuda, better known as the Japanese duo Pink Lady, had a hit in the USA with this song recorded in English, which made them the second Japanese act to hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart after Kyu Sakamoto, who hit #1 with "Sukiyaki" in 1963. "Kiss in the Dark" peaked at #37 on the Hot 100 in 1979; in their native Japan, the song went to #19 on the Japanese pop charts.

I really loved this song, which was a pleasant pop tune with disco influences, and the 45 RPM single of this was one of the very first records I bought, and also one of the few remaining singles in my collection that has managed to survive my childhood to the present--you can easily tell from the sound that this record has been played hundreds of times, LOL
