Description
After composing the iconic theme for Batman (1989), Danny Elfman returned to the superhero scene in 2002 and composed the also iconic theme for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.
But another theme Elfman composed for Spider-Man (2002) is the Peter & Mary Jane love theme. Peter and Mary Jane's love story is the centre of the Spider-Man trilogy: "Let me assure you, this, like any other story worth telling, is about a girl... That girl. The girl next door... Mary Jane Watson". - Peter Parker.
The 'B - A# - C# - G#’' played on high strings takes me back to my childhood and may be the first love theme I ever heard! Certainly the earliest one I can remember.
The songs used in this suite are:
Armageddon/A Really Big Web! - Danny Elfman
A Phone Call/The Wrong Kiss/Peter's Birthday - Danny Elfman
At Long Last, Love - Danny Elfman
Farewell - Danny Elfman
