HELLRAISER: THE MOST BORING REMAKE I'VE EVER SEEN
I would tell you that this video contains spoilers but I really don't think you will miss anything.
The new #Hellraiser movie has finally arrived on Hulu and I must say I'm a little confused about this movie, because it didn't really feel like the triumphant return of Pinhead but just the new Hellraiser movie in turn.
Before going on to talk about the bad I want to talk about what in my opinion were the cenobites, Pinhead's makeover was one of my favorite aspects of this movie, although sometimes it seems that only his head is real and the body is CGI does not stop being an intimidating character, the rest of the creatures look very cool despite having a relatively simple design compared to the previous movies they look very macabre and that is something that I liked a lot.
In general, the whole movie feels very heavy, it is the typical horror movie where we see more dialogue and mystery than the monsters, it really is a boring movie to watch, although the new cube function is interesting, the way is so slow and tedious in which it presents it is good for a nap. At times it's great to see Pinhead's appearances and so on but the plot twist that the villain was a guy with access to the box, he is very poorly executed and ends up getting boring.
The characters don't help either, they are TOO generic and boring, at no time did the death of any of them hurt me, the protagonist is the flattest, boring and personalityless Final Girl I've seen in a horror movie, it's tedious to see the interactions between the characters characters when they are not with Pinhead or the cenobites, the soundtrack is generic and there is no piece of music that stands out more than the classic theme from the first film. The final scene where the villain seems to be saved and then dies is lazy, I prefer to see it as a secondary cenobite that was too nice, forgives the protagonist's friend and kills the other guy because at least it's a little more interesting, but that is all.
Honestly, I didn't have much faith in this movie either, I felt that it could be a bit bad but I also thought at one point that it would be better than the original but the truth is that it's just one more Hellraiser movie, and that Pinhead is one of my favorite 80s horror characters along with Freddy Krueger and Chucky but I feel like this movie could have been more.
