Greetings and continued blessings, my friends. This song came about while Chris Muglia was speaking with his pastor, who was discouraged by the fact that the congregation always left Mass early. Jokingly, the pastor suggested that Muglia might write a song about that. Chris turned that around and ended up with “a song about why we stay, why we come, why we gather, why we’re here, because our God, in fact, is here.” The verses of this version are actually a re-write of the original. Another art-ist Chris shared the song with mentioned that if he wanted to use this song at liturgies, he should re-write the verses to “get specific about where God is.” Until we can sing together again… Our God is Here.
