I really just can't stand parties. I can't stand environments where everyone is putting up a front. And I especially can't handle being socially open with strangers for even a slight period of time. I used to go to a lot of the school dances in middle school. It wasn't all bad, but after enough family gatherings, social events, and parties of any kind, it became apparent how uninteresting and anxiety inducing these kinds of things were.

In high school, I stopped going to most events, parties, and gatherings, opting really to only attend things I would actually enjoy. Taking more of a social backseat, I started doing more observing and thinking about people and social pressures.
