We had the pleasure of discovering the "Quatuor Anches Hantées" during a concert given in Paris, just after the deconfinement. Listening to this splendid Mozart quartet by a clarinet quartet was a real surprise. This wind instrument is very expressive and, during the audition, we managed to forget that the work was originally written for strings. We hope that you will have the same feeling as we did, even in front of your screen.. :) Malinconia, the last album available at https://www.quatuorancheshantees.com/en/albums/

The six sets of string quartets dedicated to Haydn are an essential part of Mozart's creations in the realm of chamber music. Their composition dragged on over more than two years, and caused Mozart more grief and work than any other work. He described them, in his famous dedication to Joseph Haydn, as the "fruit of a long and arduous labor." On the other hand, he introduces them as his sons and entrusts them With touching affection to the arms of their godfather. The quartet in D Minor gives us the feeling of one of the most and direct messages from Mozart, a deeply moving testimony of inner solitude.
