Often considered the UK's version of Janis Joplin is Scottish singer Maggie Bell, who was a lead singer in Stone The Crow. You might know her for her backing Rod Stewart on his 1971 song "Every Picture Tells A Story." Here is her cover of JJ Cale's "After Midnight," on her Jerry Wexler-produced 1974 album Queen Of The Night. Reggie Young played the lead guitar on it with Bill Salter on bass and Steve Gadd on drums and Ralph MacDonald on percussion.
