The 13 titles of the "Songs of Mercy" were composed and written by Magdalena between September 2020 and May 2024. This first album has been created then recorded at home and around, soberly, with the means at hand, between May 31 and June 17, 2024. The song "Jane, Jane" is a cover from the album "Folksongs & Ballad"s" by Tia Blake and Her Folk-Group (1971). The use of ambient captures and live recordings aims to restore acoustic music outside the padded walls of the studios and soundproofed rooms, an humble attempt to bring it back to the "Great outdoor", where all music comes from. Furthermore, the use of "Pidgin English" (Fela Kuti, R.I.P.) for the lyrics was self-evident, as was the choice of an acoustic music, imperfect, soft or strong, frank and fragile, sincere. My warmest thanks go to all the souls, near and far, alive or delivered, who made this achievement possible.
