Leave You Far Behind” was first written by Lunatic Calm in 1996, and went on to become an iconic track — featured in films, TV shows, and games like The Matrix, Charlie’s Angels, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Titan A.E., Spy Kids, and many more.

In 2021, I set out to recreate the track from almost nothing — just a few original floppy disk samples and memories of the Nord Rack synth that shaped its DNA. Rebuilding it was a massive technical and creative challenge, a full-circle journey spanning nearly three decades.

The audio rebuild took 9 days, finally coming back to it and finishing it in 2025. The video was crafted over 2½ intense days, generating more than 527 images and animations using a combination of Midjourney and Runway, and edited frame-by-frame in Adobe Premiere.

This reimagining stays true to the spirit of the original — raw, relentless, and cinematic — but pulls it forward into a futuristic world inspired by Blade Runner and the underbelly of dystopian cityscapes.

Every sound, every image, every cut was created with the same DIY ethos that fueled Lunatic Calm from the beginning.

This release continues the release of an expansive archival project titled "More Lunatic Than Calm Vol.1," dedicated to uncovering rare, obscure, and previously unheard music from Lunatic Calm’s influential era (1996-2002).

The "More Lunatic Than Calm" series captures the gritty synths, driving rhythms, and explosive energy that defined the acid, breaks, and big beat movements of the late '90s and early 2000s, showcasing the heavier side of Lunatic Calm's groundbreaking sound.

Future compilations include "More Calm Than Lunatic," exploring atmospheric and downtempo productions, and "More Lunatic Than Calm Vol.2," promising another thrilling dive into the band's energetic and innovative music.
