🇬🇧 The march was inspired by the return of General Manuel Baquedano to the city of Valparaiso in 1881, at the end of the Pacific War in which Chile fought against Bolivia and Peru. The anthem composed in 1966 was used in official military ceremonies until it was officially adopted in 1976.

🇪🇸 La marcha "Los Viejos Estandartes" fue inspirada por el regreso del general Manuel Baquedano a la ciudad de Valparaíso en 1881, al final de la Guerra del Pacífico en la que Chile combatió contra Bolivia y Perú.
