This is one of those melancholy little pop songs from the early 1970's. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it in early 1973.
It was originally recorded by the Canadian group "Edward Bear". The group took their name from Winnie The Poo. Apparently Edward Bear was Winnie's "proper" name.
The group leader, and writer of this song, is Larry Evoy. Other group members were at different times, Craig Hemming, Danny Marks, Roger Ellis and Paul Weldon.
This song reached #1 in Canada and #3 in the US in 1973.
I had many struggles trying to record this song. I never really got it the way I wanted but what is the point in being a perfectionist at this late point in the game, lol.
