Celebrating 80 years since Batman's first comic appearance in Detective Comics #27, and 30 years of Tim Burton's Batman film, Lake Minnetonka perform a medley from Prince's iconic song soundtrack.

In the vein of Prince, Morris Day and the Time, Madhouse, and Sheila E, Lake Minnetonka is the funk juggernaut forging a Melbourne take on the Minneapolis Sound. Having collaborated with artists such as Eric Leeds (fDeluxe, D’Angelo), Dr Fink (Prince and the Revolution), Sonny Thompson (NPG) and most recently, St Paul Peterson (The Time, fDeluxe), their 80s inspired jazz fusion and on-stage antics will leave you on a purple high.

Based in Melbourne Australia, Lake Minnetonka features bandleader and composer Adam Rudegeair (PBS FM’s ‘Black Wax’, The Bowie Project) on keytar and synths, Jack Wieseler on guitar, Ann Metry (Tina Arena) on bass, Emily Shaw on drums and ‘AJ’ Jackson on tenor sax, as well as frequent guest vocalists and musicians. In addition to their own original robofunk tunes, Lake Minnetonka love to get down on classic Minneapolis joints from back in the day by the likes of Maserati, The Family, and Morris Day and the Time!

In early 2018, Lake Minnetonka released their debut album, 'Melbourneapolis'. It was followed up in May 2019 with 'The Honey Garden' EP, which was co-written by regular Lake Minnetonka vocalist Françoise d'Argent.

The band toured with Ashley Tamar Davis when she came to Australia in June 2019, and look forward to working with more international artists in the near future.

In the meantime, they are hard at work writing and recording for their second full-length album, featuring guest appearances from Dr Fink, St. Paul Peterson, and L.A. Buckner.
