The original text for this composition is this:
"Announce to the audience when the piece will begin and end if there is a limit on duration. It may be of any duration.
Then announce that everyone may do whatever he wishes for the duration of the composition."
I was reading a book on American minimalists before a performance class one day and came across the piece; it captured my imagination so I decided to perform it.
I opened and closed the lid of the piano to let the audience know when the piece started and finished respectively.
The piano used is a Bosendorfer 225 and has 4 extra bass notes going down to a low F. I thought that I would play the note once and let it ring out for a minute or two, but it died out a lot quicker than I thought it would, so I played it a few more times.
It is not really detectable in the video, but one of my classmates sneezed at one point, and it made some interesting resonances in the piano.
