Description

Jesu, dulcis memoria is a piece attributed to the spanish composer Tomás Luis de Victoria (1548-1611). It belongs to the sacred repertoire and it is defines as a motet, an office hymn. It has been first published in 1844 in the Recueil des morceaux de musique ancienne, Paris: Joseph Napoleon Ney, vol. 2.

Note: The attribution to Victoria is shaky and Rutter's note suggests the compositional style is much closer to 1844.

Ensemble Sottovoce is a vocal quartet, created in 2011, composed by former students from the Lorient Conservatoire and Auray sacred music Academy, located in Brittany (France).
