This video introduces you to Mr. Hideo Ishiguro, one of Japan’s hopeful actors. Hideo was born and grew up in a small town called, Koyama City in Tochigi prefecture. Both his parents have lived there for generations like most Japanese people do. They do not move around, hopping from town to town, so generally, people have known each other for generations. And, remember, Japan is the world's most ancient country so one can imagine the depth of human relationships.
Hideo was 15 years old when one of his female classmates in his junior high school jokingly took his pictures, telling him that she would send them to a model search contest at a famous men's fashion magazine company. Hideo didn’t think anything of it at the time and forgot about it until he received an invitation to attend their model search contest in Tokyo.
Hideo told his female friend and his family about it, but still, he didn’t think that he would win, so he thought he would just enjoy the free trip to Tokyo. However, against all odds, he won the contest and was selected as a fashion model, which comes with a good-paying job in Tokyo. In this way, Hideo entered Japan’s most competitive industry, the entertainment industry, and the rest is history.
Today Hideo is being offered good roles in films, TV dramas, and stage plays; he is quite busy. He has one of the classic handsome Japanese men’s faces; he comments that he looks just like his paternal grandfather when he was young. Best of luck to Hideo in his career!
