This is a great bassline from Lee Sklar! As always there are beautiful chords from James Taylor with a lot of aberrant root notes for the bass.
And I really like the pop notes. I play the popped notes with the middle finger of my right hand (for instance bar 7, 11,21). Most bassplayers use there index finger to pop the notes, but because the middle finger is larger than the index finger I find it more comfortable to use the middle finger.
Verse 2 transposes, but I’ve chosen to keep the accidentals the same as in Verse 1. You should have six accidentals (F#, C#, G#, D#, A#, E#) in Verse 2, but because the E# is actually F I’ve chosen to write F instead of E#.
The song also transposes in the Bridge where you’ve got 4 accidentals (Bb, Eb, Ab, Db).
And there are some terrific licks in the Verse, such as in bar 37 with a slide towards the F note on the G-string. Also the beautiful rhythmic and melodic lick in bar 41 for instance and the lick in bar 52 where Lee plays directly after the pop notes the 16th note lick followed by a very nice melodic lick in bar 53.

Have fun with the basslines from Lee Sklar!
I play this song on a Fender Jazz Bass with roundwound strings. Tuning is E A D G. Don’t forget to tune your bass just a little bit higher (A4 = 443 Hz). No effects used except a bit compression and distortion from a preamp.
