Description
Played live with no computers, featuring a Korg Volca Bass, Volca Keys, Roland Aira TR-8, Novation MiniNova, Korg KaossPad Quad and Zoom 1201 effects units. Read more for the technical details... The Roland TR-8 controls the tempo of the Volca Keys via MIDI. The Volca Bass plays the main chords and riff but is not synced with any connection. Instead, the Volca Bass has its tempo set to 66bpm (half the track's tempo of 132) in order to create a longer pattern. The Volca Bass plays two sustained chords and is passed through the external input and sidechain of the Roland TR8. The TR8 then cuts the chords into a rhythmic pattern. The Volca Bass is then sent to one of the TR8's assignable outputs and through a Zoom 1201 effects processor which adds a delay effect. I couldn't find a suitable place to set up the camcorder so I did this one-handed with the camcorder in the other.
