Description
While Karaoke as we know it didn't really begin to take off until the '70's (in Japan, then spreading...), here is an early piece from an OOP Capitol Records vinyl LP, from 1964, entitled "The Top 40-Song Book - Instrumental Accompaniment".
The LP contains major hits of the day by The Beatles, Martha & The Vandellas, Dave Clark Five, etc. It appears to be primarily studio session people, along with background vocalists.
(sorry, but I only had a mono copy of the vinyl, but if you play this in the High mode it will have stereo-like sound)
