The four Servant Songs in the Book of Isaiah are considered to be among the most important prophecies in the book of Isaiah, especially for understanding his prophecies concerning Israel’s future renewal and restoration. Most intriguing is that the Servant Songs speak of an individual who will suffer and die for the sins of Isaiah. In Acts chapter 8:26‒39, Philip explains to an Ethiopian Eunuch that the figure in Isaiah 53 is Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ/Messiah. It is important to study these Servant songs very closely and to pray with them as we consider Jesus’ ministry and mission.
