Sheng and Guan Music (Chaohua Wind and Percussion Music), with roots tracing back four millennia in Chinese musical history, features the guan (管, double-reed pipe) as its primary instrument accompanied by sheng (笙, mouth organ), xiao (箫, vertical flute), dizi (笛, transverse flute), drums, and gongs. In June 2008, this tradition was listed as a Representative Item of National Intangible Cultural Heritage (Project No. II-136).
