It was released in May 1988 as the second single from Crowell's album "Diamonds & Dirt". The song was the second of Crowell's five number one country singles. The single went to number one for one week and spent a total of 13 weeks on the country chart.

Barry Oliver is a musician/singer/songwriter originally from Groton, NY, who resides in Zephyrhills, FL. He has performed at several music venues in the Zephyrhills area. Barry was elected to the New York State Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2019. With just a few noted exceptions, Barry's vocals were recorded LIVE; accompanied by background tracks and acoustic guitar.
