This duet marks a moment of deep emotional connection between the two characters — Theodora, a Christian martyr, and Didymus, a Roman soldier who defies his duty to save her. Handel’s music blends grace and poignancy, weaving two voices into a seamless expression of loyalty, faith, and love.
