Description

A dramatic and sacred oratorio first performed in 1733, telling the biblical story of Queen Athalia, set to a libretto by Samuel Humphreys after Racine.
This 2003 performance features the Coro y Orquesta de la Xème Académie Baroque Européene d'Ambronay under the direction of Paul McCreesh, with a stellar cast.
