"Maldito duende" is a song by the Spanish rock and roll band Héroes del Silencio, from their album Senderos de traición, released in 1990. It is one of the band's best-known songs, a regular on compilation albums and live performances. It was also number 1 in the charts.

The first publication of "Maldito duende" was when the album to which it belongs, Senderos de traición, was released, and it was the 2nd cut of this album, published in November 1990. In March 1991, the single CD was released, which included only this song. Later it appeared on several compilations, including the live Tour 2007.

On April 20, 1991, "Maldito duende" was number 1 in the radio station Los 40 principales, being after "Entre dos tierras", the second single of the album to achieve this position.1

"Maldito duende" is considered a rock ballad in the discography of Héroes del Silencio. As in most of the songs of Héroes, the interpretations have been multiple, and its composer, Enrique Bunbury never spoke about its meaning either.

The videoclip of the song was made in London by Italian director Alberto Sciamma,3 and basically consists of images of the band seen through the transparent silhouette of singer Enrique Bunbury mixed in psychedelic tones.

The most notable version of this classic was the one made by Raphael in 2001.
