Description
Track 10 from his fourth album, “Just Before The Bullets Fly” copyright 1988 Epic Records. His best solo album in my opinion, with strong material and the band performing at their peak. Dan Toler’s emotional guitar playing and unique sound are a highlight that I feel should have made this album more successful. The Allman Brothers Band would reunite the following year for a summer tour to celebrate their twentieth anniversary. That reunion would lead to them signing with Epic and releasing a string of new albums, beginning with “Seven Turns” in 1990. Written by Gregg Allman and produced by Rodney Mills. RIP Dan Toler, Bruce Waibel, David Toler & Gregory Lenoir Allman. Featuring:
Gregg Allman – Lead vocals & Hammond B-3 organ
“Dangerous” Dan Toler – Lead & rhythm guitars, keyboards on “Night Games”
Tim Heding – Keyboards & background vocals
Bruce Waibel – Bass & background vocals
David “Frankie” Toler – Drums
Chaz Trippy – Percussion
Oh, sad-eyed woman, you boogie till dawn
Long about the break of day, your man is up and gone
You got thirteen lovely children but no proud father knockin' at your door
But every hungry woman has been in your place before, ow
Oh, the doctor came callin', to find you bawlin'
Oh, you backed him in the corner, doin' what you wanna
You got fourteen lovely children but no proud father knockin' at your door
But every hungry woman has been in your place before
You got fifteen lovely children but no proud father knockin' at your door
And every hungry woman has been in your place before, yeah
Oh, the doctor came callin', found you bawlin'
Uh-huh, you backed him in the corner, once again you're doin' what you wanna
You got fifteen lovely children but no proud father knockin' at your door
But every hungry woman has been in your place before
Sad-eyed woman, oh-oh
