Gordon Lightfoot was a Canadian singer-songwriter who has been active since the 1960s.
He is known for his poetic and introspective lyrics, and his unique blend of folk, country, and rock music. Some of his most famous songs include "If You Could Read My Mind," "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," and "Sundown."
Lightfoot had won numerous awards throughout his career, including 16 Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards) and induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Despite experiencing health issues in recent years, Lightfoot continued to perform and create music until he passed away on May 1st 2023.
