Description
Track 3 from his third album "The Dream Weaver" released in 1975 copyright Warner Bros. Records. Gary Wright was born and raised in New Jersey and while on a trip to Europe in the late sixties, he met Chris Blackwell, the founder of Island Records. Blackwell later introduced him to some musicians he knew in London and they formed the blues rock band Spooky Tooth, who weren't commercially successful, but were influential in the music community. He also did session work and played keyboards on George Harrison's epic third solo album "All Things Must Pass." Other artists he worked with in the early seventies included B.B. King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson and Ronnie Spector. In the 80's he focused on writing and recording film soundtracks, and was a touring member of Ringo's "All-Starr Band." This was his most successful release by far and featured a young David Foster on second keyboards. The two singles both reached No. 2 on the Billboard chart and his innovative use of synthesizers would influence future artists. The album climbed slowly on the charts at first but by the following summer of 1976 it dominated Top 40 radio and it's a part of the soundtrack for some of my greatest teenage memories. The album reached No. 31 in Australia, No. 7 in the U.S. and No. 3 in Canada. It achieved Gold status the following year, Platinum status in 1986 and was certified 2X Platinum in 1995. Gary recently passed away at the age of 80 at his home in southern California on September 4, 2023. Written and produced by Gary Wright. RIP Ronnie Montrose & Gary Wright. Featuring:

I feel so helpless and did nothin' wrong
They sent my woman off to a jail
She's guilty of no crime 'cept for lovin' me
And the Justices, they gave her no bail
And I can't find the judge
I can't find no one to help me, no, no, no
I can't find the judge, he put my woman away
I can't find him nowhere, no, no, no, no, no
Until I find the judge
I can't find no one to help me, no, no
Somebody help me
I can't find the judge
It's such a crime to see her that way
She thought I cheated with another woman
But that woman was a friend and now she's lyin' dead
Is there any justice in misunderstandin'?
I can't find the judge
I can't find no one to help me, no, no, no
I can't find the judge, he put my woman away
I can't find him nowhere, no, no, no, no, no
He took my woman away
Till I find that man somebody help me
He took my woman away, no, no
Until I find the judge
I can't find no one to help me, no, no, no, no
Somebody help me
He took my woman away
And I can't find the judge, no, no
Somebody help me find that man
Until I find the judge, no, no, no
He put my woman away
Somebody help me now, no, no, no
He put my woman away
